Seoul Human Rights Film Festival(SHURIFF) :
- SHURIFF is held annually since 1996
- SHURIFF's goals are human rights education and advocacy for the freedom of expression, so all films are shown free of charge to the public and SHURIFF rejects any censorship.
- SHURIFF screens excellent films in all genres related to human rights, both domestic and foreign. (Approxn 30 films)
- SHURIFF awards the most outstanding human rights film of the year by judging films from the perspective of human rights. The judges are recruited from the SHURIFF Advisory Committee and also from the human rights activists and film industry that can impartially judge this award. SHURIFF has established this award in 1999 to encourage and commend filmmakers who make films that deal with human rights in the midst of difficult production environment of Korea. This award has had especially good response from producers of independent documentaries.
